Unlike some authors I wasn't always a writer.

But I've always been an artist. I grew up in a small town in Minnesota and I remember getting the creative bug early on. I realized as a teen that I wanted to put my art out into the world for people to see. One of the first things I remember doing was a creative contest I entered for the D.A.R.E. program at school. I entered a poster and won a boombox! To me that was the most amazing thing in the world.

A lot of my personal and professional work has continued to chase that thrill. In my career, I’ve been a graphic designer and photographer for over 15 years. I've won a number of Advertising Awards and taken portraits for other writers and artists. I've also sold artwork in coffee shops, created posters for charities, and even sold artwork for set decor on the CBS crime drama television series Criminal Minds.

A couple years ago I was reading Verity by Colleen Hoover and I got that same creative thrill again. I had found the genre in writing that I wanted to be part of. I decided to try my hand at writing, something I never really considered creatively. Ever since getting that writing thrill I've been reading romantic thrillers non-stop and writing every second I get.

For me it’s all about the romance. I love the connection you can make with someone but what’s the fun in reading about perfect relationships? People aren’t perfect. Sometimes things can get in the way, sometimes people can get in the way.
